Identify and use essential structures of communication, in the context of organizations, as a means to communicate effectively, including appropriate listening skills. Proactively create and disseminate messages concerning the identity, plans, imaging and purpose of the organization within itself and outside to the larger community. Recognize leadership styles, their advantages and disadvantages and to adapt one’s own style to a purpose, population or situation. Create, manage and execute an organizational change plan within dynamic organizational cultures. Understand group development and how to effectively facilitate groups. Create sound decision processes, to develop a supporting coalition for those decisions and to create metrics to demonstrate decision-making effectiveness. Recognize, manage and leverage diversity to the advantage of the organization and the individuals in it. Be self-aware, recognize one’s usual leadership behavior, develop the self-management of those behaviors as needed and identify situations in which that style will be most beneficial. Recognize conflict, manage it reasonably and negotiate with integrity. Identify types of power, how to use them appropriately and recognize their advantages and disadvantages. Think strategically, develop vision and communicate that strategy and vision appropriately.

The Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership (OLED) provides a multi-disciplinary approach to leadership issues, combining management science, humanities, social sciences, research science, communication arts, technology, and ethics. Students develop the skills needed to create a positive impact in the workplace by focusing on the "human side" of organizations. This program is dedicated to training leaders skilled in managing innovation and change. The faculty bring to the classes both expertise in theory and practical workplace experience.
