Getting Paid


Knoitall uses Stripe to process transactions through the marketplace. If you do not have a free Stripe account, it's easy to set up. You do not even need a bank account to receive payments through Stripe. Please Note: Once you have set up your Stripe account, you must connect your Stripe account to Knoitall. You do this from within your Knoitall account by clicking on "Payment Info".

Here's how the process for payment works:

  1. When a consumer selects one of your items for purchase, Knoitall will process the consumer's credit card or bank account for payment.
  2. The funds will be transfered directly into your Stripe account (less Stripe merchant fees of 2.9% + .30 USD per transaction and 5% Knoitall processing fee for transactions that occur through the Knoitall marketplace.
  3. Knoitall will email the consumer a barcoded payment receipt, including a unique Knoitall transaction number, which they will present to you as proof of receiving the item or services purchased. The buyer can access their receipt by logging into their account through Knoitall.
  4. When the consumer presents you with the receipt, you can scan the reciept with your smart phone using any of the free scanning applications available through the app stores of Apple, Google, or Microsoft. Or, any time after the first session, you may log into your account and select "process transaction", and enter the purchase id found directly under the bar code on the receipt.
  5. In order to verify successful delivery of the services to the buyer and protect their purchase, we require that you enter the transaction id or scan the QR code within the allotted period of time, which varies depending upon the item purchased. When your item is sold, you will receive an email from us with the date and time by which we need you to scan the QR code or process the transaction ID so that we can verify delivery of the items purchased. If we do not receive the confirmation within the time allotted, we are obligated to begin the process of canceling the order and refunding the consumer per our Knoitall Buyer Guarantee. We will then seek payment from you for the full amount of the item + a 5% processing fee.
